A Story
We have just added a new black tea called Margaret’s Hope. It is a very lovely 2nd flush from one of Darjeeling’s best known estates. During the 1930′s this garden was owned by a Mr. Bagdon who lived in England but visited the estate on a regular basis. On one such visit he brought his daughter, Margaret. She fell in love with the beautiful estate and vowed to come back. Unfortunately, on the boat ride back to England, she fell ill and passed away. In her honor, Mr. Bagdon renamed the estate, Margaret’s Hope.
It is believed that she still visits the estate’s bungalow, coming through the main guestroom and leaving from the study through the veranda onto the tennis courts. We hope you enjoy this wonderful tea. Click on this link to take you to Margaret’s Hope, and other black tea selections.
