Home Healthful Tips and More The Best Iced Tea

The Best Iced Tea

The temperature is starting to rise and thoughts of delicious iced tea are beginning to surface. Of course there are also tea people who drink iced tea all year long…so here is the best formula we have found to make the most delicious iced tea.

Make your iced tea just as if you are going to make hot tea…except double the number of teaspoons of tea and use half the water. So, if you’re making a quart of iced tea use about 2-3 cups of water and at least 6 tsps. of tea or tisanes; infuse per directions. Fill your iced tea container with ice and pour hot tea over the ice to flash chill. That way the melted iced makes up the rest of the water and you haven’t overdiluted the iced tea.

When you fill up your iced tea glasses with ice, the ice will keep the tea chilled without melting right away. Remember to add cut up fruit, mint, sparkling water, champagne or a little wine, to spice up your glass.

Tea is all about how it tastes to you, so experiment with tea flavors and amounts. Usually an ounce of tea or tisane will make a big pitcher, so keep plenty on hand for the summer months. To make a great pitcher of iced tea, our Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker set by Takeya is just the accessory you need. Click on the link and take a look at this easy to use pitcher set. The small pitcher is ideal for hot tea as well.
